Here are a number of the more interesting accommodation options in the Scottsdale area.
The W is well located on Camelback Road within easy walking distance of downtown Scottsdale and also the Fashion Square shopping centre. The ambience is as young and cool as you would expect from the brand and it is popular too with locals for nightlife.
The resort provides a range of rooms, casitas and suites situated in compact grounds. It is located on Camelback Road just below the mountain of the same name. This resort generally receives high ratings for service. A car will be required if you want to access downtown Scottsdale.
At the North side of Scottsdale this resort is a fair distance from the central amenities of Scottsdale. However, it is situated close to Scottsdale Road and the Loop 101 freeway so destinations in the North of the Valley in particular are accessible. All rooms are housed in a single large building which is situated amidst the golf holes that form the Kierland golf club. All parking is in a large lot to the front of the property so I’d drop luggage off with the bell desk before parking.
The Kierland Commons shopping centre is adjacent within easy walking distance. This contains a number of dining options including the upscale and highly regarded Mastro’s Ocean Club.
This property has been around for some time under a number of brands. The latest incarnation The Saguaro is gathering praise, not least inclusion on the Conde Naste 2012 Hot List. The location is right in the heart of downtown Scottsdale so a number of restaurants are within walking distance.
Ownership by the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community and a location on their reservation land means that the focal point of this property is a Casino. There is also an adjacent golf course and the usual Spa facilities are present. Although it is situated at the Eastern extremity of Scottsdale the loop 101 freeway is situated within 2 blocks.
